My friend Erin is doing this on her blog and I think it is a great way to do something nice for someone else. The following is copied from her post, I am posting it on my blog because I want to get in on the fun. Thanks Erin, you are one of my favorite people in the whole world!

The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me! My choice. For you.

This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:
1- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!
2- What I create will be just for you.
3- It'll be done this year.
4- You have no clue what it's going to be. It may be a story. It may be poetry or an article on properly cleaning your face before a masque. I may sew or paint something. I may bake you something and mail it to you. Who knows? Not you, that's for sure!
5- I reserve the right to do something extremely strange.

The catch? Oh, the catch is that you must repost this on your blog and offer the same to the first 5 people who do the same on your blog. The first 5 people to do so and leave a comment telling me they did post it win a FAB-U-LOUS homemade gift by me! Oh, and be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it!

Is it ever going to end!?

So I have been reading Twilight, I started back in October in preparation to see the movie. This has been the hardest book for me to get through. I know there are a lot of fans out there so don't be offended when I say, I don't know what the big hipe is? I finally finished it last night. I have heard so many people say that the first book of the Twilight series was the best, if this was the best I don't know if I should keep reading. I guess what I am trying to say is, I am going to need some convincing that the other books are going to be worth my time.

Maybe I am being a little too harsh. I really liked the book, but Bella drove me nuts. She was the reason it was so easy to put the book down and not pick it up again for weeks a time. Edward on the other hand was more interesting to me. But I am not about to profess that my "heart belongs to my husband and my neck belongs to Edward." That is just ridiculous and I have seen many other ridiculous phrases all over the place. My heart belongs to my husband, my neck belongs to my husband and so do the rest of my body parts, okay that's being extreme but you know what I mean. I just think it is crazy that so many married/ committed women are lusting after a fictional character. Besides the fact the he was a very old vampire I felt like he was more believable than Bella. Anyway, I will probably finish the series but not any time soon, I have plenty of other books on my list to read.

Zoo Day, Hooray!

Micah and I spent the day at the zoo with my cousins and their kids, we all had a really good time. This was Micah's first trip to the zoo so I felt bad that we went without Ryan. I thought that this would be a great day to go to the zoo, the weather was the best we've had in a while and I figured that since it is still February, there wouldn't be a lot of traffic. WRONGO! It was a full house.

Micah seemed to enjoy seeing all the different animals and I loved being able to spend time with my cousins. I didn't get a whole lot of pictures, but here are the few that I did get. Thanks for inviting us Brooke!

Happy Birthday Micah!

I finally finished a quilt! One of my new years resolutions this year was to finish the projects that I begin. I started a quilt at the beginning of January in hopes to finish it before Micah Birthday. A month and a half later it is DONE! So Micah at 13 months is finally getting his birthday present from me. This is the first quilt I have ever finished. I started one for Ryan when we got maried that is half way finished, I promised him I would finish it after I did Micah's. Anyway, there are tons of mistakes that I made and to be honest I am afraid to wash it. I am worried that it will completely fall apart in the wash.

So I am pretty late posting about Micah's Birthday, now that his gift is done I thought this was as good a time as any. Micah's Birthday was so fun, we had a small party over at Ryan's parents house. I worked all day on a cake that was pretty goofy looking, but it tasted okay. Micah didin't care too much for the cake. When we first set the cake down on his table, he tried to pick it up, but it was too heavy; silly goose. After getting frosting all over his hands, Micah spent the remaider of the time licking his fingures and sucking his thumb. He is so cute, I love him so much.

The many seasons of Ryan

Am I the only one out there that has to hassle their husband to get a hair cut? Ryan has hairdo's for the different times of year. Some of them I love and others have to go!

The cycle begins in the summer, Ryan will usually buzz his head. He like this because it helps him stay cooler in the hot weather, I really like this look too.
In the fall Ryan has the sexy do next, that's what I like to call it. This cut usually happens when Ryan is starting to get the Chia pet look. So instead of looking like and ornate house plant he has it cut to my specifications.
The winter season is rough for so many reasons. A few of those reasons are, it's cold, I am cooped up in the house, and Ryan's Shaggy Hair. This year he has achieved a record length. I never measured it, but it was about 4-6 inches all the way around. I can't blame him for going so long with out a hair cut, he has thick, shiny, healthy hair. It just wasn't a good look for him. I got to the point where I couldn't take it any more and I had to try to convince him to get a hair cut.

To my surprise, it was much easier to convince him this time. So now Ryan is sporting the Sexy haircut and I love it (Thanks Val). The only thing I have to worry about now is Post Hair cut depression. This is depression is pretty self explanatory and Ryan goes through it every time he gets a hair cut. The cure is to show him a before and after picture and the depression usually subsides.

Earlier today I ripped off a bunch of tape that I was using to mark a quilt. The following is Micah's adventure with the tape. Enjoy!

Micah, Walking, Laughing

Lots of laughter is just one of the many benefits of having a child. (We just did our taxes and, believe me, that is another).

Our little musician

I know it has been a long time since I have posted, I have had a lot to say but I just don't sit down to post, instead I like to catch up on other blogs.

Last night with the help of my family I figured out how to pull the videos off my phone and onto my computer. I will probably be sharing all of them eventually, but today I really want to share my favorite one.

Recently Ryan and I have been pulling out our old keyboard to let Micah play with it. He loves to pound on the keys, his favorite feature however is the Demo button that plays a funky version of the music from the "Nutcracker," when he hears this he loves to shake his booty!

The curious case of the bottle of Hepz

Every morning Micah and I make our rounds around the apartment. The stops on the rounds include the changing table, his pet net, the bathroom to watch dad get ready and the kitchen (for breakfast finally), and the washer and Dryer. Micah loves to do laundry. Well he did have a pretty big laundry pile. So this morning we set out to do his laundry, I went around the house collecting random pieces of clothing, my last stop was the diaper bag. As I was shuffling through my adorable green bag, I came across a tiny piece of heaven, a bottle of Hempz lotion. I love this lotion, it smells amazing. I had a flood of questions fill my mind, "how did that get there, how long has it been in there, where did it come from, who is it from, did I steal this on accident?" I definately didn't steal anything but I have no idea where it came from. My only conclusion is that it is a gift, so someone has gone without a thank you from me. So I just wanted to say, whoever you are thank you so much.

The year of homemade gifts

As is the case for a lot of people, money was in short supply this year. I always feel a lot of pressure when it comes to getting people gifts for Christmas. With the help of friends and family, this year I decided to make most of the gifts that we passed out. For my parents and Grandparents I made scrapbooks, I had all of the supplies to do this actual hard copies of pictures. For my Grand parent's scrapbook I had family send me pictures that they wanted in the scrapbook. For mine and Ryan's parents we just gathered pictures from the last twelve months, I had all the pictures printed for just a few dollars. There were other gifts but I don't have pictures and explaining them would just take too much time.

This is a Tutu that I made for my niece Haley, I have to thank my friend Valery for this one, not only did she show me how to make the tutu, but she also provided me with the materials. Thanks Val!

This is a gift that I gave out to my friends, it's just a simple sled ornament but I love tree ornaments and I just had to make these.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
