I feel pretty

Recently Micah has started to try dressing on his own; he mainly does this with shoes. On Sunday I was in the kitchen making cupcakes (another post to follow) and in walks little Micah in black heels. I was so surprised to see that he actually weaseled his way into my high heels. The shoulder shrug just adds to the cuteness. As you can see he is not finished exploring his feminine side. I love the mascara all over his face, I also love how delicate he was with the brush.

I guess we're having Cheerios for breakfast

Yeah, my first try at a collage, I'll get better :).

So Micah is becoming very independent, he loves to try to do things on his own. As you can see, on this particular morning, he tried to poor himself a bowl of cereal. He didn't exactly get any into the bowl, but he didn't mind at all. He was loving the cereal buffet he created on the counter. When I discovered the scene, I couldn't help but laugh. He is just so darn cute, even when he's making a mess. It is so fun to watch Micah explore and learn from trial and error, I hope he always keeps his cheerful get 'er done attitude. My favorite thing in the world is to hear Micah yell, "I deed ee" aka I did it when he has accomplished something.

Micah's Adventures

I just realized it has been so long since I have posted pictures of my little Micah. the following is purely for oo's, awe's, and oh's. Enjoy!

Micah loves to help in the Kitchen

Micah loves to choose his own outfits, I think this one is a keeper!

I think he looks so darn handsome here.

Playing at the park, one of our favorite pass times.

Sometimes we put this gate up so that Micah can gaze out the door, he loves to throw his toys outside.

Like Father like Son

Micah likes to hide under this pail. We play the "where's Micah...There he is" game. So much fun!

Micah pulls this cheesy smile every time we take pictures of him.

Micah's first Easter egg hunt, he was pretty happy with just finding two eggs. He is too small for the candy so we threw it away and let him keep the eggs.

Silly Micah playing inside his toy box, literally.

Micah's hair is getting so curly, it always looks messy but I love it! I can't imagine cutting off those beautiful locks.

I was just goofing off with the camera settings and Micah was modeling for me.

More playing at the park. We took this stick away when it was time to go and he cried the whole way home, it was really sad.

Zucchini Bread

So a few weeks ago I set out to make Zucchini bread for the women that I visit teach. I had all of the loaves neatly arranged on the table. Well Micah was ready for a snack at so I placed him in his high chair and went to grab him something to eat. Micah is such a big boy that he didn't need any help getting a snack. My sneaky little guy had pulled one of the loaves over to him and when I turned around he had a mouth full of zucchini bread and another handful on its way to his mouth. It was so sweet that I couldn't take it away from him.

The joys of motherhood

Micah is growing up way too fast. I have had my hands full with him lately. He is your average 7 month old, I am sure that not everything he is accomplishing or that is happening isn't unique to him, but I am still proud of him. Let me tell you what has been going on in his life. This summer he has learned how to sit up, and crawl, he has his first two teeth!

Every morning I bring Micah into my bedroom, as soon as I plop him down on the bed he crawls up to Ryan and starts laughing hysterically. As soon as Ryan opens his eyes and notices him, Micah buries his face into the blankets, then after a second he will look up again and start giggling (just like peekaboo).

Another cute thing he does is bury his face in my shoulders and cling to me tightly when he gets scared. He is mainly afraid of the vacuum, the hair dryer and the blender; all things I use often. He tries to be brave and watch me while is use these items but when it becomes too much to handle he clings to me like a clinging vine.

In case you haven't had enough of Micah I have more to add. He is such an observant little guy, when we are eating, he will either become very jealous and do everything in his power to get his hands on my plate or he will sit back and watch as he pretends to chew a mouth full of food. As I am drying my hair he will sit outside the bathroom and shake his head, isn't that adorable!

Just when I think I am going to wrap things up I think of something else I want to share. So Micah doesn't have a pacifier anymore, with the exception of bedtime where he tries to suck on his little thumb. Anyway, he seems to be doing really well without it. However, I have found him sucking on the most random things. For example, post it notes, car keys (he looks like the dog on the "pirates of the Caribbean" ride), a bracelet, rubber duckies, wash clothes and the list goes on and on.

I have to just stop myself now because I can keep going, easily.

It's a small world after all

Last week we went on vacation with Ryan's family. We spent the week in California going to the beach, Disneyland, California Adventure, Soak city, and pirate dinner theater (similar top Medieval Times). We had a great time! We stayed in a nice little condo and Ryan and I got to sleep in bunk beds. During this short week I came to realize how small this world really is. I Disneyland I ran into my friend Kevin (Marisa's little bro). I also happened to park my tush on the same bench of the family that I sat by on the airplane, crazy! And last of all my in-laws ran into a family from church.

This was my first time back to Disneyland since California Adventure opened up, my over all impression was that it was a lot like Lagoon (still fun but nothing new). I really liked The tower of Terror and Soaring over California rides. Another great feature was the "switch pass". This pass allowed me or whoever sat out during the ride with Micah to go straight onto the ride with out any wait, it was either faster than the fast pass or just as quick as the fast past. I recommend this switch pass to anyone going to Disneyland with babies.

MICAH UPDATES

Micah is getting so big, he is in a really fun stage right now. He loves to play games and read books, "Goodnight moon" and "Polar bear polar bear what do you hear?" are two of his favorites. He also loves to roll across the room, in Ryan's words he is no longer immobile. He loves to get into everything that is within arms reach. We have started him on solids now too; so far he has eaten oatmeal cereal, green beans (which he really likes) and carrots; Ryan has slipped him a taste of a snow cone and cheese but since he isn't suppose to have those I don't count them. And best of all he is doing much better with bedtime and naps.
